NERs - North East Regional Championships

The North East Regional Swimming Championships are a prestigious series of competitive events organised by Swim England North East Region (SENER). These championships bring together top swimmers from clubs across the North East of England to compete in various age groups and disciplines.

Events: Includes Age Group Championships, Youth Championships, and Para-Swimming Championships

Venues: Typically held at major regional pools like the John Charles Centre for Sport in Leeds, Ponds Forge in Sheffield and The Aquatics Centre in Sunderland. 

 

NER Qualifying Times 

Qualifying times refer to the minimum performance standards swimmers must meet to compete in regional championships. These times vary by:

Age group (e.g., 11/12 years, 13 years, 14 years, etc.) and Open (ie. older swimmers)

Gender - Open / Male & Female 

Event distance and stroke (e.g., 50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke)

A closing date (by which time you need to have achieved a qualifying time will be published and your Squad rep will let you know when this is.  

There are Short Course NERs (usually held at the beginning of November, and Long Course, usually held at the beginning of May.
