Understanding Masters Swimming

Masters swimming is a captivating and all-encompassing program tailored for adults who have a passion for swimming, be it for physical wellness, competition, or pure enjoyment. Here's an outline of what it entails.

Who can join a Masters Squad at D&G?

Age Group - Typically for swimmers aged 25 and older although there are lots of Masters who start as young as 18 years old.

Skill Level - Open to all.   Masters swimming is very inclusive, welcoming complete beginners who simply want to stay active, to others who have competitive ambitions.

Purpose - Masters swimming is principally about enjoying swimming in a structured, social and, if you like, a competitive environment.

If you choose to compete, you can race locally, nationally or even internationally.  Some of our D&G Swimmers have seen great success at the recent World Championships.

In the UK, Swim England oversees Masters Swimming across England.

British Masters Championships are held every year, showcasing top performances and amazing community spirit.
