Junior 'DIDDY' League
The Junior ‘Diddy’ League is an annual team competition against other clubs in the region, open to swimmers aged 9–12. It’s one of the highlights of the competitive calendar — fast racing, great team spirit, and a brilliant atmosphere.
2024 Season — Division 1 Champions!
What a brilliant result! Derwentside & Gateshead earned top spot with some stellar performances at this summer’s Junior League, held at The Louisa Centre in Stanley. The energy was electric!
Hats off to all the competing teams — this year was packed with thrilling races and fierce competition. With Division 1 on the horizon, the anticipation for next year is already building.

2023 Season
On Saturday 8th July 2023 our swimmers headed to the Junior League Division 2 Final at Tynemouth. The D&G teams fought off tough competition from Darlington, Chester-le-Street, Borocuda and Durham to finish in 3rd place, with some fantastic team and individual wins, several PBs, and lots of fun thrown in for good measure!
A massive shout out to our 9-year-old team who won 1st Place in their age category: Olivia Donnelly, Sophie Bell, Aria Chater, Louise Rostron, Oscar Forbes, Joseph Winwood and Anya Lyon.
