Eligibility

Entries are by invitation only, from performances recorded in the qualifying window. Competitors must be registered members of Swim England, Scottish Swimming, or Swim Wales, or competitors who have Great Britain as their WA/WPS recognised sport nationality and are a member of a club affiliated to WA or WPS.

A competitor must be a registered member of the club in whose name they are entered at the date of making the original entry. Where swimmers are members of multiple clubs, they must compete in the name of one club only for all events.

Only the time offered by the invitation system will be accepted for entry. Only times achieved in a 50m pool are accepted. No converted times. Times must be achieved at competitions licensed for national entry.

Team Events

Entry accepted solely from clubs affiliated to SE, SS or SW as a result of performance in qualifying rounds at designated qualifying events. The 30 fastest teams in each event will be invited, irrespective of location within England, Scotland or Wales.

Team Declaration Forms must be completed and submitted to the Recorders at least 60 minutes before the start of the session in which the team is competing.

Accreditation

Coaches, team managers and chaperones must obtain a poolside accreditation pass via an online application in advance of the closing date and must print their own pass. Competitors must also print their own accreditation. A link will be provided in the entry confirmation email.

Admission to the pool and athlete-only areas will only be allowed with a valid accreditation. If a competitor withdraws from all events, their accreditation becomes invalid. A charge will be levied for lost, mislaid or forgotten passes.

Competition Format

All events have Heats and Finals, except the 800m and 1500m Freestyle and the 4x200m Freestyle which are Heat Declared Winner. For heats only, Para Pathway and Olympic Pathway athletes are combined and seeded on time. Finals are swum separately.

Finals age groups: 13/14, 15, 16, 17/18 and 19+ years. The fastest 10 from Heats qualify for each Final, plus 2 reserves. Reserves are released upon publication of the Finals start sheets.

Withdrawals

From Heats: By 12 noon on the day before each competition day.

From Finals: Notify the Chief Recorder no later than 30 minutes after the conclusion of the last individual event in the qualifying session, via the official withdrawal process. Reserves are released upon publication of Finals start sheets.

Call Room

Swimmers must report to competition stewards in the call room for both Heats and Finals. Competitors must enter the Call Room race-ready and remain there until led onto the pool deck. Upon entry, athletes must report to a steward and be registered as present. Coaches and chaperones are not permitted in the call room area during Finals at any time.

Awards & Doping Control

Medals are awarded to competitors placed first, second and third in each Final and each age group in all HDW events.

Competitors may be subject to random doping control and must carry photo ID at all times. An official meet accreditation incorporating a photograph is acceptable. By entering, competitors (or parents/guardians if under 18) consent to report to Doping Control if requested and agree to be bound by the British Swimming Anti-Doping Rules 2021.

Para-Swimming

The Aquatics GB Next Gen Championships includes a programme of para-swimming events. Full conditions for para-swimming events are detailed in the supplement to the official meet conditions document. Please speak to your coach for further information.
