Qualifying for NERs 2026
Be a Member of a Swim England Club in the North East Region
Your eligibility is determined by your club affiliation, not your home address. You qualify if you're registered with a club in the Swim England North East Region. For D&G athletes, this means being affiliated with Northumberland & Durham.
Achieve the 2026 Consideration Times
A consideration time is a performance standard that allows you to be considered for entry into a meet. Unlike qualification times (which guarantee entry), consideration times give you a chance to compete, but don't guarantee a place.
What You Need to Know About Consideration Times
- You must meet or beat the consideration time to be considered for entry
- Meeting the time doesn't guarantee acceptance if the meet is oversubscribed
- Events are filled with the fastest swimmers until the programme reaches capacity
- All swimmers must meet the standard, but final places depend on available space
Why Consideration Times Instead of Qualification Times?
- Helps the NER Region manage unpredictable entry numbers
- Maintains a high standard of racing without automatic entry
- Gives organisers flexibility when building the meet schedule
Important Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Achieve the time before the closing date (times achieved after the deadline will not be accepted)
- Swim the time at a licensed meet (Level 1–3)
- Note: Level 4 meet times will not be accepted
- Converted times using the ASA Equivalent Performance Tables will be accepted
- Ensure your time appears on Swim England Rankings
