Partner with Derwentside and Gateshead Swim Team - one of the North East's leading swimming clubs.
For over a century, swimming has been part of the fabric of our communities in Tyne and Wear. Derwentside ASC grew out of Stanley Swimming Club in 1987, while Gateshead and Whickham ASC built a proud competitive history from the 1970s. In 2024, the two clubs merged to form Derwentside and Gateshead Swim Team - a stronger, more ambitious club built on shared values and a common goal.
Today we support swimmers of all ages and abilities across thirteen coached groups, from Learn-to-Swim and competitive squads to Masters and SwimFit. Our competitive swimmers regularly medal at English and British level. We are a Swim England affiliated club, run entirely by volunteers, and we are proud of every swimmer who pulls on our kit.
