Club Governance & Specialist Roles
Help shape the direction of the club and bring your specialist skills to the team.
Club Governance
Chairperson / Vice Chair
Lead and oversee how the club operates. The Chairperson chairs committee meetings, provides strategic direction, and acts as a figurehead for the club. The Vice Chair supports the Chair and steps in when needed. Both roles require commitment, good communication, and a genuine passion for the club.
Club Secretary
Handle communications, meeting minutes, and general club administration. The Secretary is the organisational backbone of the committee, keeping records accurate and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
Club Treasurer
Manage the club's finances, budgets, and payments. The Treasurer keeps the club financially healthy, oversees accounts, and reports to the committee. Experience in bookkeeping or finance is helpful but not essential.
Membership Secretary
Register members and keep records up to date. The Membership Secretary manages the club's membership database, processes new joiners, and liaises with Swim England on membership compliance.
Welfare Officer
Make sure every swimmer feels safe and supported. The Welfare Officer is the first point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and works to ensure the club meets its duty of care to all members. A DBS check and Swim England safeguarding training are required for this role.
Volunteer Coordinator
Recruit, organise, and look after our volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator ensures we have the right people in the right roles, keeps volunteers informed and appreciated, and helps new volunteers settle in.
Specialist Roles
SwimMark Coordinator
Oversee the club's compliance with Swim England's SwimMark quality standards. This role involves maintaining documentation, coordinating accreditation renewals, and ensuring the club continues to meet the criteria that demonstrate we are a well-run, safe, and inclusive club.
Technology Team
Support timing systems and event technology at galas. If you have a technical background or an interest in how competition timing and results systems work, this is a great way to contribute on gala days.
Recording Team
Manage results and data entry during competitions. The Recording Team ensures race results are captured accurately and efficiently, supporting the smooth running of galas and the publication of results afterwards.
