About This Meet


The Last Chance NER Qualifier is a Level 2 gala hosted by Middlesbrough ASC at The Neptune, Middlesbrough. It is licensed by Swim England for entry into County, Regional and National short course championships. Age is calculated on the day of competition, Sunday 18 October 2026. A separate swim-down pool is available.

Age Groups & Events

10 Years 50m, 100m, 200m all strokes; 400m Freestyle; 100m, 200m, 400m IM
11 Years & over 50m, 100m, 200m all strokes; 400m, 800m, 1500m Freestyle; 100m, 200m, 400m IM

All events are Heat Declared Winner. Para-swimmers are included within the standard programme and seeded by entry time. No qualifying time is required for para-swimmers.

Entry Fees


Individual swims: £8.00 per event. 800m and 1500m Freestyle: £10.00 per event. All entries must be submitted electronically with an entry time (ranked or coach's time). Entry times should be converted to 25m pool times using ASA Conversion Tables.

Poolside Passes


Each visiting club receives 2 free poolside passes. Additional passes are £10.00 each and include entry and start sheets. Coaches and Team Managers must hold a valid pass and current DBS certificate to access poolside. Lunch is not provided for Coaches and Team Managers.

Medals & Results


Medals are awarded to the top three in each individual age group. Heats are seeded according to submitted entry times. Over-the-top starts will be used where possible.

Officials Wanted


A large number of licensed officials are needed to run this gala. If your club has officials willing to help, please contact gillian.smith@middlesbroughasc.org.uk. Travel expenses are paid at 45p per mile (50% where a swimmer is also competing, or for single-session volunteers).
