Talia on the podium at the Scottish National Open Water Swimming Championships

Talia is Scottish National Open Water Champion

North of the border, and D&G had another swimmer making waves in open water this weekend.

Loch Ken at the Galloway Activity Centre played host to the Scottish National Open Water Swimming Championships (SNOWS), with 142 athletes taking to the water amid some changeable conditions. It was a stunning but demanding setting for a national championship.

Talia competed in the 10km event and delivered a stunning performance, finishing in a time of 1:58:56.99 to claim 1st place in the Female category and 3rd overall across men and women combined. That makes Talia the Scottish Swimming Female 10km Open Water Champion.

Racing 10 kilometres in open water, in changeable Scottish conditions, is an extraordinary feat. To do it at the front of the field is something very special.
