Fast-paced racing across all four strokes
Derwentside & Gateshead Swim Team’s internal Club Championships take place this Sunday, bringing an afternoon of focused, competitive racing to the pool.
Sunday 20 September 2026
1pm–5pm
Internal Club Championships
This is not a licensed meet, but it promises to be a fast and exciting afternoon for our swimmers.
Four strokes. Four opportunities to race.
Every swimmer will compete over 50 metres in each of the four strokes:
- 50m freestyle
- 50m backstroke
- 50m breaststroke
- 50m butterfly
One combined challenge
Times from each swimmer’s four races will be brought together to produce a combined 200m Individual Medley time. This gives swimmers an opportunity to demonstrate their speed, technique and consistency across every stroke.
Winners announced at Presentation Evening
The winners for open male and female from each age category will be announced at our Presentation Evening later in the year.
We wish all our swimmers the very best. We look forward to an afternoon of strong performances, close racing and excellent team spirit.
