What a weekend it was for Derwentside and Gateshead Swim Team. Finalists in nearly every event, personal bests, National Qualifying times, and so many of our swimmers making the podium — with many going on to win the Regional Championships.
The team brought home an incredible medal haul: 13 gold, 7 silver and 3 bronze. An outstanding collective effort.
This was a truly outstanding performance from D&G Swim Team and a testament to the hard work and dedication of every swimmer and our coaches. We could not be prouder.
A huge thank you to our coaches Paul and Chris and team managers Fiona and Claire, for putting in a full three long-day shifts to make this weekend possible. Your commitment and dedication do not go unnoticed.
Thanks also to Coach Jay Manners, who was a very able announcer throughout the weekend, bringing a wealth of experience from his own swimming background to the role.
