As once two separate Swimming Clubs our combined knowledge and experience within the sport and the region allowed and aided us to take all of our members on an excellent merger journey. We have developed a mission and a great vision of what we hope to achieve in the future.
We have focused on the exciting opportunities which we could maximise by joining together. This meant that when we announced the new club, all staff and the committee had an understanding of working as a charity. Derwentside had already established relationships with the local pools in their area and has always looked for what lies ahead in the future.
Both of these combined experiences have allowed us to set our mission to deliver accessible and quality swimming that will enhance our swimmer’s physical and mental capability in and out of the pool. This mission also complements our vision which is to provide an inclusive and accessible pathway into the sport that will support swimmers across the Tyne and Wear county.
